This is it! (hear Eye of the Tiger playing as you read this) Its the time of the year to start making training plans and race goals for 2010! The running tips from my Runners world calendar were inspiration for this blog post (I of course will add my own flavor to the tips!) :)
#1 Review your training from 2009, you will be reminded of the progress you have made over the past 12 months! Celebrate your success and good health! Our legs are amazing to take us that far!!!
#2 Find a work out buddy whom you can share your training with and who will keep you honest and will give you reminders about your training plans! I find virtual work out buddies awesome. Start a blog or join a site such as Daily Mile! http://www.dailymile.com/ I love Daily Mile...though I don't use it as much as I should! You can link it up to your FaceBook to really keep you accountable!
#3 Consider linking your running efforts to a charitable cause such as Girls on the Run! We have a great charity running program SoleMates! Pick a race and raise much needed funds for our program!! :) http://www.girlsontherunsolemates.org/about_solemates.html
Cheers to making 2010 a great traning year!!!
SoleMates is the adult charity running leg of Girls on the Run® (GOTR). We are male and female athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon or participating in a triathlon, to raise money for local Girls on the Run® councils.

GOTR Volunteers!
"Volunteers don't get paid, not because they're worthless, but because they're priceless." ~Sherry Anderson
Girls on the Run, Maricopa County has the best volunteers around! We are so lucky to have such a great team of people who are SoleMates running/raising funds for the cause, coaches who dedicate their time, committee/board members, running buddies and the one time volunteers who make a difference! This organization's heart is not only the girls we service but the volunteers that keep it running!
Below are a few fun shots of our volunteers from the AMICA tri a few weekends ago! It was a beautiful morning at Lake Pleasant to volunteer! We also got an action shot SoleMates Triathlete Julie in transition! :)
