January 9, 2011: XTERRA Arizona Trail Race at the White TanksGirls on the Run® is grateful to be the official nonprofit partner of this race series! A percentage of race profits will be given to GOTRMC. In addition all donations collected from registrations for the kids' run will also go to our council. January 14, 2011: Girls on the Run of Maricopa County presents the Inaugural Sole to Soul featuring Molly Barker!!!You are invited to join us as we enjoy great company, dinner and drinks as well as a presentation by and conversation with Girls on the Run® founder, Molly Barker.
January 16, 2011: Join the GOTRMC SoleMates Team at the P.F. Chang's
Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon and 1/2! Its not too late to RACE FOR A REASON!! Please also visit the Girls on the Run booth at the EXPO!!!

SoleMates - PF Changs!!!
Running PF Changs in 2011? Run for a great cause...run for Girls on the Run - Maricopa County!!!
SoleMates is the charity running leg of Girls on the Run. We are a team of athletes who pursue individual goals, such as running a marathon or participating in a triathlon, to raise money for local Girls on the Run councils and our important after school running programs for young girls.
Registration for SoleMates is $26 and then members agree to raise a minimum of $262. We support our runners every step of the way with exclusive runner premiums, effortless on-line fundraising programs and loads of motivation! Contact us at solemates@gotrmc.org for more information or questions on how to register.
Just as SoleMates are changed by their experience, Girls on the Run uses running to transform the way girls see themselves and their opportunities. Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money to reach every girl, and to educate and prepare her for a lifetime of self respect and healthy living.

Which is more tough to stick to?!
Blogging or Running?! I say both are pretty equal!! :) I can say though that I have ran since my last post of February!!!
How do you stick to a plan? I always make a goal, a plan and then try to stick to it as best as I can! I try not to get down or hard on myself when things do not happen as planned...life happens!
My current goals include a Faster 5k (when I say "faster" it's more like faster than a 9 minute mile!) :) Here's my current plan...thought it might be fun to share...make me more accountable perhaps?! Sara C. Faster 5k Plan
Its modified from Hal Higdon and inspired by one of my favorite health bloggers! Inspiration gets us off the couch right?!

2010 Spring Season!
We've been busy over at GOTRMC!! Our race to celebrate the girls finishing our program is April 24th at Kiwanis Park, Tempe! Click HERE for more information and to sign up to run or be a running buddy!!!
We also had a team of 12 run Ragnar to raise awareness and funds for our council! We raised over $1500 for scholarships for the girls! YAY! Ragnar was a great time....tough race but awesome!
